Christmas Walks and get together 2026 Friday 4th December-Monday 7th December [3 nights]
This Christmas trip we are trying a new model of walks. The setting is an HF Hotel that specialises in walking breaks. The hotel is offering self-guided walks with clear OS Maps and instructions. A long walk and a short walk will still be led by our East Staffs walk leaders however they will have been recced by HF walk leaders. It also gives others the opportunity to select their own walk from the various graded walks offered it they should wish.

The hotel  is the Longmynd Hotel owned by HF and it is set in a wooded hillside a short stroll from Church Stretton in Shropshire - 67 miles and 1hour 30 mins away. The town was named ‘Little Switzerland the late Victorian and Edwardian period for its landscape and became a health resort. Close by is Carding Mill Valley within the heart of the Long Mynd. Also close by is the charming town of Ludlow to the south and Shrewsbury to the north. The Shropshire Hills are a walker's paradise with a rich landscape of open countryside, ancient woodlands and meadows.
Included in this break is bed, breakfast, evening meal and a packed lunch. All rooms are on suite. The hotel requires all walkers to have travel insurance. Plus carefully selected walk and maps.
